Failure To Launch

For the past year I have been waiting for the release of a certain artist's debut album to drop. I have been a fan of his for about two years every since I really started to get into the blog sites and seeing which artists were up there. I made it a point to follow up with the release date of his project because I was definitely going to support and buy his album (which that is something that I haven't done in a while). Actually I haven't bought this many albums in one year since '04 (I bought Blueprint 3, Loso's Way and Ready). When I went to the store to buy this album I was shocked to see that there weren't any of the shelf. I just assumed that everybody went to the store and bought all of the copies but I was wrong. It looked like the label didn't ship enough copies to the major retail outlets like Target or Best Buy, which is definitely odd. I guess they were assuming that this artist didn't have enough fans to warrant a lot of copies to be sent out. By looking at the first week numbers I was kind of mad that this album didn't get a lot of sales. So really with this post I just want to break down why the label didn't ship out a lot of copies for Wale's Attention Deficit.

This is the last leak from the homie Web before he releases his project God's Favorite. This is what he had to say

"So we've come to the end of the promo run for God's Favorites. Since this is the last leak from the album, I thought it would be appropriate to end where it all began. I originally recorded this song as a warm-up. I never really intended to release this song as a part of the album. It wasn't until I heard it after it was mixed and mastered that I felt it was a perfect way to begin the album. I also wanna take a moment and say THANK YOU to everybody who's been supporting the music. All the blogs and websites we've been featured on has truly been a major help in spreading our music around the world. I never expected to have the type of response that we did to this album and it is entirely because of you that we reached so many people. For that I will be eternally greatful and I sincerely hope that you will continue to post the music in the future. I'm gonna be taking December off to plan for 2010 and I will be back in the first week of January with the Open Bar Freestyle Series brought to you in part by the homie Kevin Nottingham.
