With his collaborative album with Chubb Rock being pushed back to next month for its "in-store" release. As always Wordsmith will continue to give his fans quality music to fill some of that void.
This second track is called "Beg For Mercy" produced by Strada, which is an unreleased track from the feature film "75" that was never released two years ago. It was slated to be scored by Wyclef Jean and feature new music from Chubb Rock as well.

Young Scolla-USR
Another one from my USR camp:
"So keep your ears tuned and your eyes focused for Detroit's next rising star!"This is what lifeonwax.com said about Detroit MC Young Scolla. Born in South Memphis, Tennessee, Scolla was moved to the Michigan's Highland Park area at the age of six. Born with an early blooming talent, Scolla got his start in music appropriately, in elementary school. Blessed with the ability to sing, dance, and rap as he got older that resume of talents has gotten longer. Young Scolla is also a successful producer, songwriter, engineer, graphic designer, and fashion designer.
Scolla's musical influences come from his parents who are Cameroonian (African) and Scolla prides himself on being able to bring those influences into his music. "I grew up on an eclectic mix of music; everything from African Makossa to jazz to reggae to rap."Those influences helped evolve Scolla to become an all around musician, a lyrical assassin, and a sultry R&B singer. "I find it fitting to be able to completely take people on an emotional ride thru a song via my production, rhymes and the melodic hooks and interjections through out the songs I create."Along with music Scolla's parents also play a pivotal role in his music and life. "My parents raised me to most importantly be a honest and responsible man. I can't see myself being anything else, which is why I pride myself on being honest with my fans"
With his first solo project behind him "Signs of Greatness: Tales of Barack Scobama", Scolla's internet and street buzz is getting bigger by the day. His next project ,"The TPT Experience", in which he calls the album before the album is slated to be released this September. He insists this project will connect him with his fans. "You can expect yourself, when you listen to The TPT Experience. This project is based off regular everyday emotions, thoughts and feelings. Everything you go through on a day to day basis is reflected on this project. It's for the people and it's also for myself. I want people to get closer to me as a man and I also want to inspire creative minds"

Jay-Cro-USR

Its about time that I gave ya eardrums a lil taste of Michigan. Check out my boy Jay-Cro Jay-Young'n:
Aspiring and upcoming Detroit rap artist Jay-Cro Jay-Young’n was born in Atlanta, GA but was moved to Detroit during his toddler years. Jay was heavily influenced by music while growing up around a family that greatly appreciated music. Besides family influences, Jay was also inspired by artists such as MC Hammer, NWA, Tupac, and LL Cool J. These artists not only led him to be the rapper he is today, but they encouraged him to become a great emcee. Also his U.S.R. family keeps him focused and motivated to continuously grow as an artist. Jay’s style is a mixture of similies and metaphors. His music is based off of lyricism and everyday life experiences. Jay’s overall outlook on music is that it should never be made for one specific crowd. “Music is my life and I make music that everyone can feel and relate to. Real hip-hop tells no fake stories so I don’t rap about what I don’t know. I may stretch the truth a little for entertainment purposes but when it comes to my music… what you hear is what you get.” Right now he’s currently showing off his talent on a mixtape called “Potential:Then & Now” which includes previously recorded never released tracks and updated tracks he’s been working on today. “I did the mixtape this way because I wanted to show people how much ive grown as a artist with my delivery, flow and production”. The purpose of this mixtape is to promote his name and to prepare for the bigger project/album to drop next year “Self Explanatory:Young’ns In Charge”. So be on the look out for this upcoming artist Jay-Cro Jay-Young’n.

DJ AMES PRESENTS INTERNATIONAL HUSTLE VOL 10 HOSTED BY JANELLE NADINE
The Guest Feature: Kid Kartel

VA Music scene suffers from overrated ego's. Everyone is entitiled to have a ego as well as there opinion, but when your ego is bigger than your career is it's a problem. I've met tons of humble people in this industry, but on the flipside I've met a great amount of people who just feel the urge to over due or exaggrate there success if any. I find a few artist in VA to be more self centered, jealous & envyous then they appear. When I first entered this circle of VA Artist's & Producers I kept hearing talk about a VA movement & that we need to unite and work together. So I felt like I was in the right network. Immediately I learned that, that was a bunch of talk and no one was really pushing forward to Unite the 7 Cities.
What will it take to bring the VA Artist's & Producer's together ?
Who knows, some say we should put our ego's aside, others say we need more collaborations. I kinda agree that we do need more fresh collaborations. It kinda get's boring to me to see the same people collaborating with the same people song after song. I also feel that alot of the artist's thats been on the Music Scene longer than other should take some time out and help out the freshmen class of artist's. Sit them down for a session or 2 and go over the proper way of promotion, recording & mixing down music, because alot of artist's need that guidance. I'm blessed & lucky that I learned as much as I know now on my own, but even down to me it's still a lot of things I need to learn. With that being said we don't really have those kinda mentors as we had back in the day. Artist's are so focused on themselves and to a certain degree I understand why, but no one can make it in this world alone. I've always been more than happy to collaborate with anyone, it's a learn process on both sides. Whatever happened to having Conferences & Siminars for up and coming artist. It's like i'm watching VA Music die everyday I get online or turn on the radio. I get so disgusted with the amount of favortism that I see going on. Why is it so hard for a DJ or Radio Personality to break in that new record or that new artist. I use to think DJ's where the one who could decide if the artist had good music or not. We look at DJ Jam Master J how he mentored 50 Cent or DJ Clue how he brought us Fabolous, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince Will Smith. The DJ's job is just important as the artist but I really don't see many DJ's finding a artist to work with.
The thing we have to realize is, EVERYONE who does music is not gonna make it.
Part of the reason why I think the music in VA is suffering is because everyone is a rapper, producer or singer. All of the fans are the artists we see trying to get on. It use to be making music was a gift or talent, but when you see a million people just putting word together just to match it get's disturbing. I don't wanna knock anyone off there block but more than half of the music that's floating around VA isn't worth listening to, let's be honest. A lot of the people who are putting the music out don't have there own sound. They sound like someone whos already on or someone the labels turned down. It's like everyone wants to say something but isn't really saying anything. What happened to music with messeges... More that half of the music in VA lack substance and how long will a weak verse hide behind a okay beat? It's sad when you only listen to a artist's music because the beat hot. I think so many people are too scared to say someones song isn't hot because they might say the same about their music. What happened to being brutially honest? Not every song you put out is gonna be a hit record and I think artist's need to realize that they are gonna make some wack shit. Artists & Producer are too scared to expirement on there music. Stop trying to hide behind a few co-signer's and perfect your craft. We use to be the state that stood out from the remain 49 states but now we sound like a bunch of rejects. Artists think they are being consistent because they record a new song everyday or release a song everyday when real consistency is about make that hit with precision.
It's tons of things we could point out in this VA Music Industry that we could work on but i would be sitting here typing forever. The 1st steps to a VA Music Recovery would be to bring honesty back. Put the feelings aside and let artist know politely what he or she should work on to better there music. Constructive criticism is healthy to the industry. Of course your gonna have your stubborn, know it all kind thats gonna speak negative of you, but then you would see 1st hand what you shouldn't become...
